Research that Benefits Children and Families—Uplifting Stories

If I possessed the means and the knowledge to conduct my research studies about any topic in early childhood education, I would choose behavioral disorders in children. I have always wondered why so children have this disorder while others don’t.  Year after year more research shows why children suffer from this and how parents can help their children. Some parents ignore the warnings early on because they don’t want to believe it or just feel as if their child will grow out of it. There would be so many positive contributions to this because parents would help their children early on and help them before they enter school.

It is very important for us as parents and educators to be aware of the warning signs when they are being exhibited and not to be in denial. Early interventions can be implemented to assist child with behavioral. This is a great topic one I think many will be interested in learn more about.

  2. Hi Brittany,
Working in a Head Start program we have the resources to provide all types of early intervention programs to our children and families and I am surprised to find that often times families refuse these services because they don;t want their children to be labeled. We try to explain that sometimes we children get the services early they may not need them when they leave our program, but they still refuse to sign the paper work to have their child evaluated.
